Mom Issues Warning After Bath Toy Nearly Blinds Toddler

What started as a normal bath time for Eden Strong’s 2-year-old son, Baylor, turned into a nightmare. After his bath, Eden noticed Baylor’s eye looked irritated — but within hours, it got drastically worse. His eye was swollen, red, and protruding from his face. He developed a high fever, and Eden rushed him to the hospital.

Doctors diagnosed him with severe cellulitis, a fast-moving bacterial infection that nearly cost him his eyesight.

💔 The cause? A common squirting bath toy.

Water trapped inside the toy had become a breeding ground for bacteria — and when it squirted into Baylor’s eye, it triggered the infection.

Eden shared the terrifying ordeal and graphic photos on Facebook to warn other parents, and the post quickly went viral. Thousands shared similar stories, many unaware of the hidden dangers these toys pose.

“I’ve thrown all of them out,” Eden said. “They’re cute, fun, and cheap — but they’re not worth the risk.”

Thankfully, Baylor has recovered — but his story is a powerful reminder to check the toys our little ones play with.

🛁 If it holds water and can’t be fully cleaned or dried, toss it. It’s just not worth the risk.
