Community Mourns the Loss of 2-Year-Old Ava Ann Marie Tabor

Children are our greatest joy, filling our lives with love and laughter. Their innocence reminds us of the beauty in the world, which makes the tragic loss of little Ava Ann Marie Tabor even more heartbreaking. At just two years old, Ava’s bright and beautiful life was taken too soon. Now, as her family and community grieve, they are also seeking justice for their beloved daughter.

A Precious Life Cut Short

Born on November 28, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas, Ava Ann Marie Tabor was a joyful little girl who brought happiness wherever she went. With her radiant smile and sparkling blue eyes, she adored dancing, helping in the kitchen, and making every moment special for those around her. Her parents, Levi Landon James Tabor and Kylie Marie Perez, cherished her deeply, building a loving home for her in De Queen, Arkansas.

But their world was turned upside down in early March when a tragedy no parent should ever endure struck their family.

On that fateful day, 19-year-old Wesley Davis was babysitting Ava at a home in Lockesburg, Arkansas. Something went terribly wrong, and Davis called for medical help after Ava became unresponsive. According to Sevier County Sheriff Robert Gentry, Davis later confessed to physically assaulting the toddler.

A Mother’s Heartbreaking Goodbye

Ava was rushed to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where doctors fought to save her life. But despite their best efforts, she tragically passed away on March 4, 2025. The devastating news sent shockwaves through her family and the entire community.

In an emotional tribute, Ava’s mother, Kylie Perez, poured her heart out in a heartbreaking Facebook post:

“Our very last time holding our baby… After two years of putting you to bed, making your bottles, playing with you, waking you up, taking you bye-bye, and listening to your mini concerts in the car… I’ll never get to do that again. No more Ava kisses, no more hearing ‘momma c’mon,’ no more baby loves… WESLEY DAVIS, you took this from me. YOU TOOK MY WORLD. YOU TOOK EVERYTHING I LIVED FOR. I will not stop until you get what you deserve. I LOVE YOU, AVA ANN MARIE TABOR. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MOMMY’S BABY. NEVER FORGOTTEN.”

Seeking Justice for Ava

Initially, Wesley Davis was charged with first-degree domestic battery, but after Ava’s passing, prosecutors upgraded the charge to first-degree murder. During a recent court appearance, Judge Bryan Chesshir set Davis’s bond at $1 million and issued a no-contact order to protect Ava’s grieving family.

Ava’s mother remains determined to fight for justice, stating:

“My baby did not deserve this. And he [Davis] deserves every bad thing that’s coming to him. And I will not stop until he gets it.”

A Community in Mourning

Ava’s tragic death has deeply affected the local community, with emotions running high. Sheriff Robert Gentry acknowledged the public outrage, revealing that authorities have received multiple threats against Davis.

“There have been death threats, and we have had threats of bodily injuries and harm to Mr. Davis,” Sheriff Gentry stated.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to allow the justice system to take its course, emphasizing that they are committed to ensuring justice is served.

“She didn’t deserve what happened to her, and we are going to do our best to see that the judicial system takes care of the one that harmed her,” Sheriff Gentry told KSLA.

A Final Act of Kindness

In the midst of their grief, Ava’s family made a selfless decision—they donated her organs, giving other children a chance at life. This final act of love ensures that Ava’s spirit will live on, bringing hope to families in need.

Funeral Arrangements for Ava Ann Marie Tabor

The community will come together to honor and celebrate Ava’s life in a funeral service on Thursday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

A visitation will be held the evening before, on Wednesday, March 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., also at Chandler Funeral Home.

Ava’s story has touched many hearts, leaving people heartbroken over the cruelty she endured. The outpouring of love and support for her family continues as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

Rest in Peace, Sweet Ava

It is unimaginable how anyone could harm an innocent child. Ava’s light was taken far too soon, but she will never be forgotten. As her family and community mourn, they also stand strong in their fight for justice.

Rest in peace, sweet Ava. You will always be loved.
