During the bottom of the seventh inning — right after a thrilling go-ahead double by Pirates star Andrew McCutchen — 20-year-old Kavan Markwood from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, fell 21 feet from the stands onto the right-field warning track.
Witnesses said Kavan, in high spirits, had taken off his shirt and poured beer on himself in celebration before losing his balance over a 36-inch railing in Section 142. The area sits behind the iconic 21-foot Clemente Wall, named after Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente.
