Ongoing Nuclear Tensions

President Donald Trump gave a brief but pointed response Thursday when asked about Iran’s continued refusal to halt its nuclear program.

When a reporter questioned how he would respond to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s refusal to negotiate, the president simply replied, “I say good luck.”

Later, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that while military options remain on the table, no final decision has been made regarding the potential use of advanced munitions on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility. Trump is expected to wait approximately two weeks before making any decisions, allowing time for diplomatic efforts.

“There’s a chance of negotiations with Iran in the near future,” Leavitt stated during a press briefing. “The president will decide whether or not to proceed within the next two weeks.”

According to recent reports, Iranian officials have shown interest in a direct dialogue with the United States and have expressed a willingness to send a delegation to Washington.

In the meantime, Israel continues targeting military and nuclear locations inside Iran, and has reportedly requested U.S. assistance in striking Fordow, a facility believed to be deep underground and heavily fortified.

When asked if destroying Fordow is a condition for any deal, Trump responded:

“It’s just something people talk about. We’re the only ones with the capability to take it out. But that doesn’t mean I’ll do it.”

He went on to praise the strength and technology of the U.S. military, while reaffirming that no decision has been made yet.

Trump also noted that Iran had previously declined a potential deal, saying:

“They had a great deal on the table. They didn’t take it. Now they want to talk. It might be a little late, but we’ll see.”

The president also addressed recent media speculation, denying reports that he had initiated peace talks.

“I have not reached out to Iran in any way. That report is false,” Trump said on social media. “If they want to talk, they know how to reach me.”

As tensions remain high, both diplomatic and strategic paths appear to be under consideration.
